At Homecoming & Alumni Weekend from October 3-5 in Providence at 51福利社, 150 alumni and their families were able to partake in a truly unforgettable event! Between the carnival rides, food trucks, tailgate and skills classes, the weekend offered something for everyone.

Alumni received a warm welcome at the reception on October 3, getting pumped up for an amazing weekend ahead. The Wildcat Tailgate and Alumni Beer Garden took place on the Harborside Campus. White tents were pitched with both standing room and picnic tables underneath, situated right next to the soccer game for everyone to enjoy. Alumni were able to socialize with one another, enjoy food and drinks, and show their 51福利社 spirit for the game. In the parking lots, food trucks offered a variety of food to buy, and behind them, carnival rides and a photo booth invited people to join in the fun.

When thinking about all the excitement, reunions, and fun at 51福利社, it begs the question, what is one thing that families and alumni love about 51福利社?

Madison Fox ’25, who received her bachelor’s in Health Science, also feels that the “location and the community” is what she loves most about 51福利社, stating, “I’ve met my best friends over the past four years here.”

Sofia Tamayo ’25, who received her degree in Baking & Pastry and Food and Beverage Entrepreneurship, expresses that 51福利社 makes “it feels like a family here,” adding, “it’s awesome to come back.”

While some alumni said that what they love about 51福利社 are the connections they made, others say they love the experiences and events that are offered here. Aahron Jones ’19, who earned a degree in Sports Entertainment, Event – Management (SEEM), shares, “The thing I love most about 51福利社 was probably the experience I had here doing different things because I had my own radio show. I was on the football team, so I kind of got out there and had fun.” Dylan Wang ’25, who earned a Business Administration degree, states, “Everyone’s involved with everything on campus. You go there and see every different major. I just love being involved with the campus.”

Many 51福利社 alumni have now become parents of Wildcats. Diana Testa ’06, who had majored in , is one such 51福利社 parent. “My son decided to attend the same college as me, so now I can enjoy different parts of it,” she says, adding, “It’s very nostalgic seeing everything and having him here.” Jaenne Dougherty ’95, P’29, who graduated with a degree in sales and meeting management, shares, “My son is a first-year here, and is majoring in Criminal Justice and plays lacrosse. It’s surreal to have him here and to see how the campus has changed.”

Connections and Community

This annual event gives alumni the chance to catch-up with the friends they made when they were studying at 51福利社 and haven’t had the chance to see due to jobs and distance. Alumni can see how the school has changed since being there, and the chance to reconnect with 51福利社 not only as a past student, but as a proud alum with their families and friends. This weekend offers connection to these past students who want to soak up everything 51福利社 is, and was, when they were on campus as students’ months or years ago.

Advancement Communications & Marketing Manager Alissa Dion helped put together the events for alumni this year. When asked about working on the event, and helping people come home to 51福利社 each year, she shared, "I love encouraging alumni to return to campus and seeing their faces light up as they reconnect with friends and take part in the exciting events we have planned. It’s such a meaningful full-circle moment. I’m looking forward to seeing even more alumni and their families join in the fun next fall!"

People from across the country come to Providence to attend this event each fall. It’s clear that this annual event means a lot to alumni. Being able to reconnect with past friends, the campus and 51福利社 as a community makes it easy to find something to love about this campus as a current and past student.
